Orientation Week for Erasmus+ & Exchange Students

Palacky University Olomouc held a traditional Orientation Week for the incoming foreign short-term students in the week of 4th-8th of February 2019. There were more than 130 students from 34 countries all around the world. The inbound students were informed about the studies at UP, as well as about off-campus life. They also had a chance to learn basic Czech at our Survival Czech lesson. The OW is regularly organized by the International Relations office in cooperation with Erasmus Student Network UP.
Winter School of Central Europe and European Integration

In cooperation with the Faculty of Law, the International Relations Office organized the second year of the Winter School of Central Europe and European Integration. 23 students of our Chinese partners at Southwest University enjoyed the beauty of snowy Olomouc and developed their knowledge of the Czech Republic, Central Europe, and their place in the European Union. The program was a great success and we are looking forward to the next edition.

The International Relations Office participated again in the second year of the popular students’ event MEET UP 2018. We have presented our work, discussed with studnets and distributed informational materials to those interested in international mobilities.

Student exhibition at the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA
Marek Vašut, a graduate student of History at the Faculty of Arts, introduced a poster exhibition Blindfolded: Europe on the Road to the Great War in the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA on September 22, 2018.
The celebratory opening was attended by the representatives from UP International Relations Office, Faculty of Arts, UP as well as by other representatives from several institutes in Cedar Rapids and the general public.
The business trip in Cedar Rapids also provided opportunities for planned academic negotiations with Nate Klein, Vice President of Mount Mercy University and prof. John Chaimov, Director of Off-Campus Study, Coe College.
Summer School Central Europe: History & Culture - Architecture & Society 2018
Monday, July 23, 2018 saw the official kick-off of the Summer School Central Europe: History & Culture - Architecture & Society. This summer school was organized by the central International Relations Office in co-operation with the Department of History, Faculty of Arts, and hosted 77 students of 8 different nationalities. The four-week program finished on August 19, 2018.
3rd Erasmus+ International Staff Week 2018
During the week 18. 6. - 22. 2. 2018, International Office of Palacky University Olomouc held The 3rd Erasmus+ International Staff Week 2018. The event was attended by colleagues from Israel, Turkey, Morocco, Serbia, Poland, and Italy.
Summer School of Central Europe and European Integration

June 18 marked the start of the first instalment of the Summer School of Central Europe and European Integration. This summer school is organized for the partner university, Southwest University from Chongqing, China in collaboration with the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Thus Palacky University Olomouc now hosts a group of 25 students and two tutors from both universities, participating in this two week event.
Palacký University Olomouc welcomed a delegation from Tianjin Foreign Studies University
On June 12, 2018, Palacký University Olomouc welcomed a delegation from Tianjin Foreign Studies University. After both parties presented their university, a discussion on the mutual academic collaboration followed. Tianjin Foreign Studies University was impressed by the comprehensive nature of the partner university and interested in further intensifying mutual collaboration in the field of language studies, notably Czech and Chinese. In addition, both Universities discussed the possibilities of short academic programs such as summer and winter schools.
